Nice job! I like the satin looking black(ish) finish.

You should've had someone translate the writing, it might've been autoragphed by the girl band that was in Kill Bill.

Re: Im not really sure wheres this is supposed to go?

Thanks guys! I really appreciate your reviews and spending the time to check it out!
I’m not really sure what kind of pickups are in there. I just know the neck wasn’t even wired in. The kid who had it must been crazy cause I have no clue what he was up to by having the vol pot in there with a fake input jack in it’s place. The bridge pickup pretty hot, it has a Metallica sound to it. But it’s pretty blah clean tone wise. They both have a really deep fat distortion which I’m wondering is the cause of the repotting?
And if you’re wondering about the Japanese, and I know you are LOL. It turns out that there all signatures from the guy’s high school grad. I took photos of each one, with the original intent of reduplicating each of them.
I just like finding guitars like these, In a wired way I feel like I’m rescuing them. At least from the bin. Usually I don’t refinish them, but after 2 days of looking at it I decided I couldn’t live with it any longer LOL And it was ruined anyways.
What do you guys think I should call her ?

repotting, if there is a lot of wax, will definitely darken the pickups up. it all depends though, i don't like my pups waxed a whole lot. i like them a little microphonic. just last night i pulled a couple pickups apart to scrape out all the excess wax.

as for the name...only a couple of my guitars have names. i just don't think it's neccesary, and can be a little cheesy. but if the guitar is special, then it gets a name.

The bridge p'up looks like an old Dimarzio X2N.

Since it's legs are spread and you think it's a her...call it split-tail.

First off, it doesn't even LOOK like a Fender, so it doesn't belong here. :rl :rl :rl

Seriously though. That is a very sharp looking guitar. I like the translucent, matte black finish. I don't have the patience to refin a guitar. How long did the project take? Nicely done!

Re: Im not really sure wheres this is supposed to go?

Thanks man! I'm not really sure how long it took cause Id do 15 mins here 30mins there etc. But to heat gun the paint off took 45 mins. And i started to sand it by hand, and by the 3rd day of that I decided to go get a new palm sander. The actuall painting took a week, Cause id apply a coat, and let it dry. So im guessing with my off and on amount of work it took me a month. Im sure most people could have done it in 2 weeks with a steady amount of work.

Even at a month I'd say that is pretty quick, considering you worked on it part time.
