I played the guitar the whole afternoon. It is exactly what I was looking for. What a warm tone!
But I have to admit it was a very very hard decision to spend that much $$$ for a guitar. For conscience sake I had to promise my wife that it will be the last guitar for the next years.

pics don`t work anymore, the former owner took them off his homepage. If anyone can take the pics to his image gallery I can e-mail them.
Thanks

I've got a '68 with a large headstock...
... and I swear the body is earlier than '68. No markings in cavities but the finish is nitro, I'm convinced. If anybody would like to check it for me, I'd be delighted. Email and I'll send jpegs.
Where the finish is worn on the upper rear bout and in the (relatively) few places it's chipped, the sunburst is really thin and you're down to the wood real kwick.
Four-bolt neck, grey bobbins with the stamped four-figure serial numbers, a glorious neck radius and B nut width that enables me to play better than I actually can - that's the magic of a vintage guitar, that and the sound. New guitars and RIs are great in their own way - I've got a few - but they don't come close to this one. I have not regretted for one second the big bucks I spent on it.
Bluesfreak68... yo on the right track, baby
