Turn the adjuster screws clockwise. ;)

If the neck ones are hidden, remove the pickguard first.

It also depends on the sound. I do follow the 1/64" difference between the bass and the treble side, but not on the bridge pickup. I adjust them the same on both sides.

On Tele's I adjust the neck to 4/64 and 5/64 because the cover tends to make them quieter, but adjust the bridge so there is a nice tone when both pickups are on. Usually the bridge is higher in volume than the neck pickup. When I get the right sound, I check the height and make both sides the same.

Some may argue, but if you use an older vintage wooden hanbdled cross tip pick up adjustment tool, you will get better tone....

ha, am i being jostled with about this question?

i don't mind though, i looked hi and low for instrs on how to raise tele pu's, and humbled myself to post the question here. it is done now and i did not poke my eye out in the process either.

my next project is to install a mod kit to my BD-2. hopefully i do not burn my eyes out!

    have a great weekend

    Mark -

    Just joshing......
    (do people still say that?)

I hope you get it where you want it....I struggle with a couple of guitars and "never" seem quite happy with it......I think its absolutely me.

Take care....and if you need one of those vintage adjustment tools, I may have an extra for like $450 or so.........

Frank, I've also seen some good things happen with a Swiss Army knife I had on me.

Marek...yes...you were being joshed around a little, but in a kind fashion! A Fender guitar is a desperately simple device. A lot of guys are scared to play with adjustments. All of them make sense if you just work through in a logical way where it's going and why, and what the limitations are. For example, I can quote the Fender recommended height for each PU, but I don't use it myself, so why would that be something I'd suggest? I run the PU's hotter. The action on a Custom Shop set up is not what I like either. So I change it. And I do it today and have done it for literally thousands of others through the years. It's been fun, and a good learning expereince each time! Just play with it, abandon all fear, and make it sound like you want it to. :)

tonefreak, I got it sounding great.....a tad lower than the specs for now. I am fiddling with a new BD2 pedal too and MAN am I getting some cool tones and substain .... :bug (into a V1512 Crates little big tube amp)

Next week on to the BD2 mod kit install. Fortunately I work for a wireless comm company and our portable tech is going to baby sit me through the mod.
