I have a 65 BF Bassman and I'm trying to figure out which 12ax7 slot (v1,v2, etc) is the most important when using the normal channel? Also, how do the the different tube locations relate to the normal and bass channels?

*** See post below for Bassman
*** Sorry had Bandmasters on the brain
"First slot on the right, viewed from the rear, is the preamp tube for the normal channel. Second tube is the preamp for the vibrato channel, 3rd is for the vibrato circuit, 4th(12AT7)the phase inverter, 5th & 6th the power tubes.
If you don't use the vibrato channel and want a little fatter sound, try pulling the 2nd tube. Won't hurt the amp at all."

does a '65 Bassman have a vibrato channel?
You can never have too
much music in your life.
Whoops sorry, was thinking Bandmaster. For the Bassman, the first and second preamp tubes are for Bass channel, 3rd one is for the normal channel. 4th the PI, etc. Pulling tubes won't make it fatter.
