    "highly polished directional frets"

    It's part of the Eric Johnson strat specs. What does it mean by directional? More of a point for intonation?

    Polish w/ steel wool along the length of the fret instead of along the length of the neck. You'll need to mask off or blade the fingerboard afterwards.
