American delux stratocaster w/ blue burst finish

    Hi all.

I have an Americal delux strat circa 1990. This guitar has a blue burst finish. I have not seen too many of these w/ this finish.

Can anyone tell me anything relating to the umber of these guitars produced w/ this finish??

    Thanks in advance.

Yeah, that actually sounds like it's a Bonnie Raitt Strat. That's the only one I know of that came in a blue burst. Does it have a real skinny neck?

I always thought they were beauties, just like Bonnie .

Is the face of the headstock paiinted to match the body?

No, Its a American Strat Plus. Lace sensors (gold) maple neck and fretboard, wilkenson roller nut, locking tuners and the knife edge trem and a hipshot tremsetter. I bought it new in 1990 so it may be a 1989. I'll try and post some pics. BTW the pics will show some mods i recently made. I put a seymour duncan JB Jr. in the bridge position as well as swapped out the original white pickguard for a white pearloid and i also tapped the JB Jr.

Thanks for the instite so far.

    Dennis,

I remember seeing a bunch of them in 1991-92 when I was living in Akron, OH - I guess the guitar buyer at Akron Music liked the color. The ones I remember were Strat Plus Deluxes, with the blue/silver/red Lace Sensors, chromed bridge with snap-in arm, and the ash veneers on the front and back of the body. I also remember the solid part of the burst being metallic blue. I also remember a red burst version as well.

However, I haven't seen any of these in years.
