    Tele With Clapton

    Anybody ever thought of how cool a Tele with Clapton electronics would be?

    Yeah, I've often wondered the same thing. Anyone tried it?

    I know Andy Summers had a preamp/boost in his Police-era Tele, one that supposedly had to be taped to the back of the guitar because there wasn't any room inside.

    Now me, I really dislike batteries in guitars - heck I don't use 'em in stompboxes either. Why not just plug into a TS9 or TS808?

    If you just plug into a stomp box you still sound single coil, only boosted. The Clapton electronics in the Strat fatten up the sound like a humbucker. I guess that is what I was getting at. It would kind of give you the best of both worlds.
