    Ashdown & Behringer

Are those Ashdown amps any good.
Are they reliable & easy to work on.
    How about the Behringer.
Just wondering.......I only play bass PT
    I have a Crate 150 at 4 ohm & 2 EV 15's.
I'm sick of havin' to carry both cabs to get enough headroom. The amp only puts out 100w at 8 ohms.

DAMN. I wish I could remember where I put them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Re: Ashdown & Behringer

I’ve heard some really good sounding Ashdown stuff at Bass Central in Orlando.

As far as Ashdown vs. Behringer goes, this is how I understand it:

    1. Ashdown made some popular good sounding bass amps in England.

    2. Behringer (as they have done with other companies like QSC) completely copied the design of the Ashdown MAG bass amps. They basically stole the product idea, design, concept, technology, etc., started making their copy in China or somewhere like that, and as a result were able to offer a very similar product much cheaper.

    3. I think that Ashdown was forced to start producing their MAG series in China so that they could compete with the Behringer copy of the amp they originally invented.

Again, this is my understanding and not gospel. Consequently, Behringer is not a company I choose to support with my dollars.
