    More Treble!!!

Most of you know that i recently picked up an old Traynor Bassmate, 6V6 powered, and love the thang to death. I would like a bit more top end out of it tho. At last night`s gig, I was using it in conjunction with my Super, for cleans, and the Traynor sounds way darker when switching over for a lead tone. Perfect for the bridge pickup tho, but a bit darker on the neck.
I new to opening up amps, and scared shitless of electrocuting myself!! If it is an easy mod, then I could tackle it.

The easy way out might be putting an EQ pedal in the chain btween the splitter and the Traynor.

First, I'd try a higher gain tube in place of the 12au7(start with a 12at7 or 12ay7, or a 5751 if you have one).

Second, if you're handy with a soldering iron, I'd replace Capicitor # 2 (C2, .05uf) with a .02. This will help with the darker sound since the .02 will pass less bass frequencies through to the driver. Here's a pic of the board It's the .05 farthest to the right...

How about just lowering your neck pickup? Simple fix and works most of the time.
