There is a guy offering me a 1970 Candy Red Mustang Competition for $1450. How does it sound to you?

Don't take my word as complete truth (I've often been proven wrong on these forums), but I'm sure I've seen Fender Mustangs from the late 60s go for around the £700 mark...that's about $1270
i bet this really annoy's you if your a grammar freak.
...back in October 1969 a Competion Mustang, three-quarter or standard neck, with tremolo and dual pickups, listed for $209.50 and the case was $37.50, or $247 for both.
In today's (2004) dollars, that'd be $1,253.17.

i don't think some people realise how expensive the old Fenders were at the time. $200 must have been a small fortune in 1969? (a sunburst jaguar cost £379.50 in 1962). people who think that mustangs are just pieces of junk are wrong. they are just as well made with the same types materials as the other Fender's that were around at the time (strats, tele's, jags and jazzies). the tuners are the same kluson deluxe, except with plastic buttons. it's almost like Fender had to make the mustangs look like studenty toys
That's a little high unless it's a 100% and clean piece.
CAR and LPB take less than a Competition Orange.
Do you LIKE it??
Will you PLAY it??
If so, BUY IT!!
I have a set of Comp Oranges...guitar and bass. I guess I would ask an even $3,000 for the pair if I ever felt the desire to sell them.
Strats and Mustangs and Coronados...OH MY!
i agree!
Imanidiot.
i bought my Lake placid blue 1969 competition for $450 last august. all it needs is a new logo.
