Wow AnnieD. That was beautiful.

If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
I always play the best I can.
BEST part of that night was walkin' into the audience (wireless) and letting the little kids who were there with their parents strike a chord.
About six of'em did it...all wide eyed and star struck....full stroke Emaj on my Polka Dot Buddy Guy!
That was cool.
That's what made the night worthwhile.
That is so cool! I'm glad it turned out that way!!
I heard a great quote on NPR yesterday. It is in reference to live music. I'll paraphrase;
"People don't remember what they heard, they remember what they felt"
Great job!

I better go back through this thread and look for one.
If not, I'm definitely gonna cry me a river!
I started playing in my church folk group a few years ago, mostly because my wife (#1) pushed me into it. They had one real guitarist and a few sit-ins and his wife was expecting, so I agreed to sit in for few weeks while he got his act together when the baby came. I enjoyed it, and played with them every week for a year or two. The priest was pretty progressive, and let us play originals and it gave me a creative outlet. Then the other guy left town and then a couple others and I was soon the only guitarist left. I didn't mind it so much, except every week somebody would take the week off to go somewhere, but we could never do it because I HAD to be there. The wife played the whole guilt thing to a point where we would fight every Sunday morning before church 'cause I didn't want to do it any more. I got to hating it ( A great attitude to have about going to church...)
I finally told her I wasn't going to continue after Christmas and she gave me a bunch of crap about it. Three or four weeks later I moved out and that was that!
Talk about a gig you just didn't want to do!

Didn't I meet your WIFE at Tele-Bob's party?
Uh oh....maybe I didn't...she did look a little too hot for the likes of you.

Heck, I'd love to go to a gig I didn't want to play at! Just the thought of gigging gets my adrenaline going! (I can hear the Rocky Theme song in the back of my head)
I can't wait until I start gigging. I'll probably be band searching this fall.

I feel a bit rubber-legged after THAT tremendous smmoch.
MMMmmmmmm.
Dream.
Dream, dream, dream.
All I've got to do is dream.
I was in a house band at the same bar for close to four years, and it started to get really old by the time we pulled the plug on the whole thing. We decided to call it quits while we still all got along.
