    biasing Hot Rod Deluxe

I have been posting recently about the upgrades I am doing to my HRD. I am very pleased with the sounds coming from it now. I still need to bias the new Svetlana 6L6GC tubes I have put in there. It says to remove the back cover of the amp and on the pc board there is BIAS TEST POINT with an area to a solder point. Then put your other lead on the ground. Am I correct in using the ground for the power cord (it is a green wire with a phillips screw grounding it). I can not get any type of reading at all. I have my multimeter set for DC volts. Please help what am I doing wrong?

    Hi Wayon:
Grounding to the green wire's lug should be fine.

Are you setting your meter scale to 2 volts? You'll be reading milli volts.

thank you for your replies. I took my amp to a tech and he set it up for me. Turns out I was doing everything correctly it was just the multimeter is bad. Now this amp sounds really good.

Svetlana 6L6GC tubes biased at 68mv.
The amp has a lot more creamy sound.
