Tab for "Middle of the Road"

I'm trying to learn this Pretenders song now that I have a tele, and I 'think' I'm playing it right, but can't quite get it to sound as smooth as I'd like. (Having trouble copping that tone also, but that's another issue.)
So I searched for tab and a gazzillion sites came up, but they all link to the exact same tab, and it's not even close. Maybe I'll write one myself, but again, not sure I've got it exactly right.

It is drop D tuning, right? Anyone else have or seen tab for this song, and can post a link to it?

Here's the way I'm playing it. If there's an easier way please let me know.

    e-------------------------------------
    B-------------------------------------
    G--------------------------2-0---------
    D-------2-0----------0-4--------------
    A--0-4-------------------------3-2-0--
    D-----------5-4-0----------------------

Cool sounding chords after the solo

    e---x---x---0--0----------------------
    B---5---7---8--8-----------------------
    G---6---7---9--7-----------------------
    D---7---0---0--0-----------------------
    A---0---x---x--x-----------------------
    D---x---x---x--x----------------------

That's right on the money. I think one of the keys is to let the open D and G strings ring out when you pick them. I love that move right after the solo, too.

Thanks for your response. That's exactly the problem I'm having with it, letting those open strings ring out. That's what I hear when I listen to it, I'm just having a problem getting it to sound smooth. If you can me tell what effect he's using, it might help also. Is it mostly reverb or is there some delay also?

Compressor (probably used an Orange Squeezer or a Dyno-Comp on the record), chorus, delay (both slapback and eighth note), reverb. Up-pick and pull-off to the open string notes.

Everyone sings about Memphis, but no one ever does anything about it.
