Visit from Yogi, Sunday Morning thread!

So I hear the back door open this morning just as the Ring camera lets me klnow there's motion at the front door. While Mrs.Junkie is walking our fierce 5 pound Pomeranian, this is going on in the front yard...

Anyways, happy Sunday! We're going to be celebrating my 70/71st birthday today (it was last month, but a lot of family members couldn't make it that day). Should be fun... just family members who I care about... .

    Anyways, have a great day!!!

Wow, GJ, it’s a good thing that Mrs. Junkie didn’t run into the front door visitor. That little Pomeranian wouldn’t be much of a defender; don’t know if bears have ankles to bite. Oh, and a happy birthday on whichever year you’re celebrating.

It should be a quiet day here on the western shore of Lake Michigan with a little bit of rain and a small amount of sunshine but we’ll motor on and still enjoy a good day with friends.

Hope all have a great week!

I'll bet that Pomeranian would have had a fit if he'd seen what you saw! Talk about good timing!

And belated/not belated birthday wishes. I'm only a wee bit ahead of you. Thirty-seven days until I retire.

Until then, I have another training to give this week. Today is my usual church-lunch-baseball Sunday. Pretty soon baseball will be over. Then it will just be church-lunch-whatever.

I could retire, but want to wait a bit - having too much fun! I get my first Social Security check this month and figure I can pay down debt while I double dip. Looking at maybe 3-4 years until I hit the switch.

I started off the day with some great relief from a sudden case of pleurisy that laid me out yesterday. Felt like a dozen knives piercing my chest every time I tried to inhale!
Several hours with a heating pad on my chest and it has subsided considerably.
At first I was scared. I have ridden 995 miles on my bicycles this summer looking to complete 1000. I was afraid some stupid medical condition was about to snatch the glory with only 5 miles left to go!

Had a bass gig last night, just back from church. Going to do some job hunting )last day of contract was Fri) and watch some football. Then another bass gig tonight.

Next weekend will be busy with a gig on Sat and 3 gigs on Sunday.

tested positive on Tuesday for Covid. isolating as best as I can so brother doesn't get sick, too. I've forgotten how much I hate wearing a mask and washing my hands 800 times a day. Trying to stay hydrated and to eat something. Had to cancel so many appointments this week, the one with my actual surgeon is the one I really hated to miss. Obviously no PT and I've barely exercised this week, going to try to restart today.

If only I could type as fast as I think, some of my fever dreams would have been hollywood blockbusters. No idea where this stuff is coming from. Many of them would make Manos Hand Of Fate seem like a jolly, light-hearted rom com. It's a real mixed bag when I close my eyes.

    Be well out there.

COVID is back - we almost cancelled the party, and a coupled people have begged off. I have to attend a pretty big meeting tomorrow - I think I'll wear a mask... my K&N filter mask - it goes well with my suit!

    Feel better Dan!

My significant and I went to see Train. The opening band, parmalee, had a lead singer who was cloying, and the songs were really terrible, lyrics so repetitive and cliché. But Train did their thing. Pat Monahan came out and was a star all night. Confident, not cutesy, knew his stuff, knew how to work the audience. Great band, excellent song-writing. Monahan was just a seasoned pro. One of the best shows I've seen in a while. I liked them before, but he won me over.

Rest of the weekend, chores, which I like doing. Had time to play my Casino and my Rick 4001. Going to have a pow-wow with Ben and Jerry's after dinner tonight.

Yeah, sure. Something will come up. How's the new guitar player working out?

Dude, we keep getting last-minute requests, we're turning them down. We're beat! We start up again in October doing a set for the House of Guitars.

As far as the other guy, I just shut up and play my guitar and get my envelope, lol.

I'm in a quandary right now - got asked to join up with a fairly well-known band that still does limited touring. Not keen on being out-of-town that much. Wouldn't pay enough for the lawn service and someone to help my wife with chores while I'm gone. I'd be away for two -three days at a time twice a month or so. Typical casinos and Sate Fairs type stuff.

Well, maybe you can get onboard as a sub or limited duty. It would be fun to do a few gigs on that level anyway.

Meh, once the downbeat hits it doesn't matter where you are if you're with accomplished players.

I'm 66 this month and don't really need the sex - but the drugs and rock & roll are tempting.

That, and they are usually scheduled to play at Red Rocks now and then, and that IS something I'd like to do for sure.
