    NAD! 1983 JCM800 and matching 1960A

Here it is, the too good to be true eBay local pickup only amp.

1983 JCM800 2205, 1960A cabinet, footswitch, and cabinet dust cover.

    Really clean and basically untouched.

Dusty with one small pencil eraser sized nick in the heads tolex.

Makes good power and I don't think anyone has ever been inside.

The screw heads on the cab are factory perfect.

Three really bad pots that probably haven't been turned much in its life.

Needs new electros and a general tuneup. I need to pull it apart and order parts this afternoon.

    Cheers Lads!

That looks like a lot of fun! Although I'm a lower gain Fender guy through and through, I like a good hard rock amp just for kicks. Being just for kicks, I can never seem to justify anything too expensive. That's what I have my Astroverb for.

I don't want to know! It doesn't matter- I couldn't get a 4x12 cab out of my basement to use it anyway!

One think I have to say about the Astroverb, is that although it's a smaller el84 amp and does not have the oomph of a bigger amp like a JCM800, I couldn’t sleep last night so I went downstairs and quietly rocked out on it at 1:30am while my family and the rest of the sane people on the east coast slept. I enjoy doing that!

I waiting for a deal on a JCM2000 DSL 50. They made millions of them, they're not rare at all and a ton of people don't even have them on their radar. Yet their prices reflect none of that. I want to find the guy who just wants it out of his house for a couple hundred bucks. Same with a 4x12 cab. everybody and their brother bitches about them, nobody wants to move one. They should be selling for 150 dollars take it away please. But nooooo. everybody has to get 500-600 for theirs.

I can't seem to find a cheap DSL50 either. I've had 2 cheap DSL401s and 1 cheap DSL201- they were broken and I know how to fix them (one of the 401s was a basket case), but no 50s. There's a broken DSL100 on my local CL right now but the guy wants too much for it. Thing is, I only buy these things the repair if I have a genuine interest in them and a DSL100 is way more amp than I can use (and I already have too much stuff).

I've got a "Marshall" build in the works, after I finish this last "Fender".
Last year I missed a deal on a 1960A cab that was unloaded for $150. I tried to get the guy to wait until my daughter was going through his town on the weekend, but he wouldn't. Said he hocked it for $100!

I'd like a marshall head that was basically the DSL 50 green channel and nothing else. no effects loops. heck, I don't even need reverb. The reverb on my DSL50 was so weak it was a waste of circuitry. Just some good old EL34s with a useable MV, I liked the EQ things it had with the Deep and Shift controls. Screw channel switching, I have zero need for all that extra gain.

A good buddy had a 50 watt 800, KILLER amps! Congrats man!!! They do the mid gain thing pretty well too, most only think of them as the 80's high gain tone. IMO, they don't really do that unless you slam them with a dirt pedal.

    Re: NAD! 1983 JCM800 and matching 1960A

    Thank you gentlemen!

I haven't had much time lately to fiddle with it.

    It is slightly sickly.

There are good sounds in it but defo needs new caps and a general tuneup.

Ive got it stacked up on my big 4x12. The controls are over my head!

Now where oh where did I put my elevator shoes?
