I just want to say thank you to all of my friends here for your support and friendship. Wish I had the time and funds to come to one of the jams some of you have with each other. Maybe one day. I send out a hearty cheers to everybody!

Dude! We're all family here, why I like and have been here so long. Even people I might argue with I still feel like we're friends. Life's too short for negativity, and it's hard enough as it is!!!
Take care buddy, and I hope things work out sooner than later.

Ah heck, I've retyped this post about ten times.
I just can't find the words to say it any better than chucko.
Brother Willie, be well.
Take good care, buy a box of pastels and make a mess, buy a nice old book, paddle down a river in a canoe,

I have to echo what CG said. I'm still amazed that this community will even let me be a part of it, considering my lack of knowledge is surpassed only by my lack of ability. Thanks, all.
This is a great place. Hang in there, amigo!

Thanks, everybody. I'll be back to my strumming old self soon. This break is doing me good. I find myself wanting to play again after about 2 weeks break. I'm going to wait two more weeks and then just have myself an evening of just me and the Martin.

Hopefully sooner. Good luck.
Glad to see that this break is proving positive. Stay well!
I'm sure sitting on the porch with your acoustic guitar is going to be great! I really like to do that from time to time and refocus. I usually get too caught up on "tone" and other stupid stuff when I plug in. Then I step back and grab my acoustic to simplify and just strum some chords. Read an article a long time ago where Keef said he wrote all his best songs on an acoustic. His thinking was that the "honesty" of the acoustic, just being some wood and strings, let him focus on the actual playing and notes. As opposed to worrying about pup selection, what pedals he was using, whether the amp was correct for the song. I've found this approach to work best for me too, whether writing or learning songs. You can focus on just playing music, not playing the electric guitar.

Some of my most cherished memories of playing are sitting on Brother Dennis' back porch.

I used to spend 90% of my playing time on my Martin. I had a great time, often carrying it to my friend's house and sitting in his garden. Seems that in the past 15 years, I've spent 90% of my time on the electrics. That's going to change. Maybe it'll help me to get that joy back again.

I have decided to be happy because it's good for my health.
It's been a month now since I laid down my guitar. I'm going to restring the Martin today with Martin SP strings (i like em), and just do some strumming and singing, nothing too intense. I'm ready to play again, and I'm going to try to approach the guitar differently now, try to appreciate what I know and concentrate on singing and using the guitar as accompaniment rather than as a means of noodling and working on technique--at least for the next few weeks.
