May we all blessed with his talent and knack for writing.

    I'll take his luck too.

Roy Clark, John Denver, and Glen Campbell were my three primary musical inspirations/ role models growing up. Very saddened to hear the news.

    Rest In Peace, Wichita Lineman.

    RIP.

When I was a kid in the late 60s, my mother used to get us tickets for the taping of The Johnny Cash Show. One night, his guest was Glen Campbell. I remember being thrilled to see him live, a real star.

Over the years, I've often put W. Lineman on my player--that song still gets me in the heart, as does By the Time I Get to Phoenix. And I have to admit that I LOVE Southern Nights. His last song "Adios" is hauntingly beautiful. I'll be listening to a lot of his stuff this week.

He was a super talented player. I'm sorry to see him go.
If we'd known we were going to be the Beatles, we'd have tried harder.--George Harrison

It's sad to see him go, but he's been through a lot lately.
When my wife and I first married, we had just a few albums, but 2 were his!

he had a rough go for the last couple decades, hope he was able to find a little peace before he lost it.

    RIP Glen.

You knew it was imminent when that documentary about him and dementia was released.

FWIW, Wichita Lineman is by far my favourite GC tune (yes I know Jimmy Webb wrote it and many others have played it, but it's still a Glen Campbell tune in my books).

For me, the song I always associate with Glen Campbell is "Gentle On My Mind." I have it in my repertoire. Every time I (try to) play it, I am impressed with Campbell's immaculate sense of rhythm and timing. I certainly don't come close to playing it as he did. And this clip shows what an accomplished guitar player he was. (By the way, can you identify the people sitting around him? I noticed Roy Clark and Willie Nelson. There are others whose names escape me).

Waylon Jennings. There's a mighty hi-power audience to be playing for there, for sure. I recognize many of the folks there even though I don't know their names. That's quite a cluster of country stars.
