    It's coming together

The body arrived wednesday and the neck arrived friday. 2017 Squier classic vibe loaded precision bass body black on black. Allparts JRO neck with a really nice dark rosewood fingerboard 1.5" nut jazz bass width tele/precision headstock. I need to drill holes to install it, so give me 4 or 5, maybe six months before I get around to it.

    Re: It's coming together

I'm a little skeptical if the body is alder, I'm going to guess basswood or agathis or whatever that chinese pine is called.

The neck has an oil finish, I'm going to buff it a little smoother and any suggestions would be appreciated. I have 0000 steel wool. I think I'm going to put a waterslide decal on it, toying with a custom logo or just go traditional Precision.

Pulled out the dead neck today, take the tuners off tonight, put them on the new neck and mark the holes. I need a clamp to hold the neck steady while I drill and I don't have one. what about those blue and yellow jobbies they sell at homeless despot?

They can work great if you can clamp it where you don't need to drill...

I look forward to seeing it all put together.
