Preamp-Tube Protection Hot Rod de Luxe

Hi there, as i found the preamp tubes of the Hot Rod tended to loosen a bit especially during transport (and moving them made some noise..) I asked my local store about this - they didn`t really agree if to fix the provided foam clamp whilst operating, or the tubes might get too hot? Apart of that, any good idea about that in general, and might it affect the sound? Thanks a lot from Germany!

I've not seen the foam you mention except online. Please remember that most Fender amps have used tube shields for years on the pre tubes, doesn't seem to be any ill effects!

Forgive me as I am unfamiliar with the model of amp you have.

The tube sockets are soldered to a circuit board inside the chassis. I see pics online of a foam pad that slips on the pre tubes, (nothing on the PI).
I suppose one could rig a piece of aluminum with holes for the pre tube tops, and spring load it to the chassis.

Evidentally, they had a problem with ringing, and microphonics, and that's the reason for the foam "tube stabilizer", don't know how it will help hold the tubes in their sockets.
