Hot Rod de Luxe External speaker impedance
Hi there, I´m a bit confused about how to use an external speaker cabinet to the combo amp; I understand the internal one has 8 Ω (I think the fender cab as well). But can I find mentioned 4 Ω as well.. My question: can I use an additional 4 Ω cab to the amp? Thanks a lot Claus Germany

According to the owner's manual, you need to use an 8 ohm speaker cab and that the internal speaker (also 8 ohm impedance) must also be plugged in.

Re: Hot Rod de Luxe External speaker impedance
I wired my DR clone like the Hot Rod output. The aux. output is a switching jack that connects the 4 ohm tap when somethings plugged in, but resorts to the 8 ohm tap when unused. The main speaker connection is paralleled to the aux, but is a shorting jack to protect the amp being energized with no load. (Thus the need to have the internal speaker connected).
