    My 2011 AmStd

I love this guitar. It is only slightly gig-worn, but well gig-tested. I played it so often at band practice that it ought to look like a venerable old citizen.

It's got Nocasters, my fave non-boutique pickups. Twang twang twang, but smooth on the neck pup. Chainsaw when it needs to be; sweet melodist when it needs to be too.

    Very classic tele, Willie.

How do you like it with that bridge, compared to a vintage barrel-saddled one?

I've never had the barrels, but Cogs has gotten me interested in them.

Sorry, I didn't mean to give the impression that I just got it. I bought it new about 4 years ago--a 2012. I haven't gigged it lately, but I plan to use it in a when I play my next 'tweenager gig this month, depending on what's decided for us to play. Lately, everything has been best on the LP. I'm itching to get the Tele out though.

A blessin' and a curse, being left handed means slim guitar pickings from many companies. Fender has always been pretty good to lefties. Gibson is making up for a long drought, if they'll follow through on their announcements. But you know what? I'm glad that I don't have all of the choices that righties have. I'm a bit mental about things, and if I had that many choices, I'd be overwhelmed.

I was really proud of being a lefty when, as a young boy, I realized that Paul McCartney and Jimi Hendrix were left handed. I was a young Beatles freak, on fire for rock and roll, and McCartney was my idol.

In some ways, being a lefty bassist / guitarist set me apart and got me attention from other musicians. It's all good.

Three properly spaced holes drilled in between the 1st-2d, 3d-4th, and 5th-6th string saddle screws adjustment holes will give you a barrel saddle bridge which can be used as a top or bottom loader.
