    Princeton Reverb RI

So it's a bad idea for me to listen to anything Jim Campilongo says. He got me excited about Telecasters, & now he's on about the Princeton. He says he brought one w/him to NYC & was concerned that it wouldn't be enough. I guess they work just fine! Now I want one. Just give a listen:

love Jim's playing but isn't his main Princeton reverb an original silverface? seems like those are barely more than a PRRI and certainly not any more than a Vintage Sound princeton.

    Oh, he has a few...
    lol
You can read all about his gear here:
    http://www.jimcampilongo.com/about/gear.php
Apparently he owns two '66s & three '70s. And that's just Princetons! He doesn't say which is his #1, but he does endorse the PRRI
Check out that page. He has a lot of interesting things to say about tone & tubes & speakers & whatnot.

That's a cool site. He sets is bias really hot and his bass really high.

He likes the '68 Custom Princeton Reverb, too.

I like where Luca tells him that the bias setting affects the tremolo strength. Then the tremolo is real strong. That's a nice sounding amp!

Since Jim has his original biased on the hot side because he likes breakup, and Fender tends to bias cool from the factory, the tremolo on the RI would be very much stronger as we heard.
