Oh the Itch! The freaking Itch!

Once again the electron gods have left a box on my porch.

I got so dang excited, I forgot to take a picture of it.

    Pine, cherry, maple, and walnut.

    Smells good, really good.

    Thank You Gentlemen!

I have a little more sanding to do.

Need to decide on a finish.

    I am open to suggestions.

    Lacquer, oil, poly?

    Clear, tinted?

    What happend?

    Quick update.

    Pre-finish sanding complete.

First coat poly dry and sanded.

    Transformers painted.

I will make new bolts for the bell ends tomorrow.

I have a DRRI PT that a friend gave me with a broken thru-bolt. I believe it is the shellac that has the remaining piece held, (and caused the problem). I'm thinking of heating that corner, which may loosen the shellac, do you have any experience, (or advice?)

I don't think I would put heat on it.

Can you tap it out with an awl?

If it isn't vibrating making extra noise, I probably would leave it alone.

He got it part way out, I suppose I could make a jig to support the area around the hole, and try to tap it through. Thanks!

Thank you gentlemen, I do appreciate your kind comments.

Life has interfered with this build.

I only have one more coat of finish applied since the last update.

Yes, all octal goodness. Plus the following:

I have a gallon jug containing a 50/50 mixture of crocodile and goat tears,

one half pint of essence of buzzard,

    6 ounces of dried unicorn,

    and 27 dried turtle d

    Its a delicate balance.

Gotta dry dem boogers quick, otherwise they spoil and give you Slash toanz.

Are we still planning on combining the Ren-O-Matic 6000 with the Croc-O-Saurus?

    Drilled all six-thousand holes.

    Faceplate cut, painted, and dried.

    Sockets, jacks, pots, etc. installed.

Chassis holes drilled in the cab.

    A quick mockup for y'all.

Please excuse the mess in the laboratory.

Re: Oh the Itch! The freaking Itch!

    Well heck.

Life really did get in the way of this build!

New transformer bolts have been made.

Parts needed to complete have been ordered.

Its amazing how caps and resistors seen to vanish into thin air... or other projects.

I can't find my notes from when I started this.

Was there a reason I abandoned plans for octal preamp tubes and mounted 9pins?

    I can't think of a compelling explanation.

Did I just want to try it as the schematic before switching?

    Dunno.

    N7, L7 it will be.

Have you finished scratching this itch yet?
    "...pray do not imagine that those who make the noise are the only inhabitants of the field;
that, of course, they are many in number; or that, after all, they are other than the little,
shriveled, meagre, hopping, though loud and troublesome, insects of the hour."
