Stubby Fingers and the 50s Neck

I've always gone for the 60s neck profile because my hands hurt, and I thought that was best. Now that I've got the LP Trad with it's 50s neck, well, it feels better in my hands and hurts my damaged wrists so much less. It's really comfortable, and from the moment I pulled it out of the box, I've loved this neck.

In fact, I can say now with experience that it's the best neck for my hands that I've ever played.

It seems illogical that the bigger neck should feel better to my hand.

Gush gush, 3 months on, and I'm so in love with the LP that I've neglected all other geets.

I think it's because you don't have to close your fingers down as much?

Glad you're enjoying your new guitar!

That's why I like big necks! My fingers aren't stubby or large. I just like to not have to close my have as much. Maybe similar to how a fat pen bothers my arthritic thumb less.

I think you're right. My arthritis is the biggest problem. The big neck just feels so great.

I have to use the "old man" pens with the BIG ergonomic grip... Yes, it has come to that!
