Not boycott here. I just think they look like pointless line extensions. The P&G Method of selling more stuff. I think others on the forum have spoken positively of them.

I didn't like the old Jags, so it's hard for me to justify even trying a new one.
    Just me, that's all folks.

I'd love to try a Jaguar. I've never had the chance.

Ive always loved the body shape but the pickups on a standard are way too clean for me maybe these will do one better?

    Re: Modern Players

Played two of the Jags. These are the ones w/p90s.
One transparent red, cuz of how simple it looked, I had to pull it down. It was frankly meh?
A few weeks later I played a sunburst one that was pretty sweet.
I think it had a much better setup. Maybe a few less grimey hands had gooked it up. Sounded and played nicely. But it felt longer that its scale should, to me.
The same day I played one of strangely low-priced SGs (Jr?/Special?) w/one P90.
It was US-dirtcheap price-wise, but for comfort & immediate ease of use, and resposiveness it was way better than the Jag, even factoring in the $200-$300 price dif. Not factoring in the razzmatazz behind the wood sourcing that resulted in its relatively low price. That's up to the shopper.

    Re: Modern Players

Did you play the double-cut SG Jr. or the single-cut Jr.?

These look very nice to me but I dunno if they would work - you see, I do a lot of strumming - and I've found that Gibsons are often too fat to really work this way - although when I cut loose with a solo I like that fatness.

Dbl cut. Same gtr I mentioned in your Gibson related thread.
That was just a flat out very good guitar.

The geography of the Jag was just wierd to me. With the stripped down electronics it made seem like a reach for the simple switch & 2 knobs. Still a pretty nice gtr though.
I'd like to see the trans blk finish. But gloss would be much nicer, IMO.
