All I know is their reputation (not good) and a brief e-mail correspondence with them (really weird) that convinced me not to buy from them. No direct experience, but I got skeered off.

ok thanks ! Prices seemed low. Perhaps they have so much business "making components for major brands" they dont have time for the likes of us.

I have an Ash 3 bolt 70s RI style Strat body I picked up off ebay through one of their auctions. The price was good for a two piece light weight body (4.1 #s), but took about 3 weeks to get it.

On their behalf they did state shipping would take up to 14 days in the auction details.

I'm guessing it takes them two weeks to catch up current orders and then another week for the body to get to the buyer.

I think with all the negative stuff I've read I'd stick to their ebay auctions (with the buyer protections) and shy away from purchasing directly from the B. Hefner website.

I bought a 50's Swamp ash Tele body direct from there web site. It is nice I have not finished the build yet. I plan to buy a matching neck at some point. The quality is good and it has all the correct routes, shapes etc.. The pricing is good if you getting an unfinished piece of wood. If you spec out a neck or body and get a lacquer finish and all the fret work done, then they come in around 450.00 plus shipping. I think that some have ordered the raw neck with frets expecting it to be playable right out of the box. They don't do that for around 100.00 dollars. It needs all the leveling and finishing done to make it right. hefner does that but it gets expensive real fast. A finished body and neck from Hefner is really around 1000.00 if you want to just put on the parts and play it.
