    Tuner extravaganza!

I felt like splurging tonight, and ordered some more parts that I've been thinking about for a while.

First up is a set of locking tuners for my American Strat. I'd prefer split shafts, but I am loathe to drill any holes. This will just make it easier.

To compensate, I ordered some "Mosrite style" split shaft Klusons to replace the keystones on my LP.

These ought to be drop in replacements.

    Tuners arrived today.

I did the LP first. Absolutely drop-in replacement for the Japanese Gibson labeled tuners. FYI - the Mosrite-style Klusons are made in Korea. Seem to work fine, and I think they look really good. I never liked the look of Keystones, and the slot heads are awesome. Goodbye snot-green plastic!

The locking Fender/Schallers were drop in replacements for the standard Fender tuners, as I expected. Tuning stability seems a bit better, and of course, the new strings went on easy. No pictures required, since everybody knows what they look like.

    Total outlay $99 shipped.

I like those tuners on the Les Paul!

I live the locking tuners on my Carvin except that they don't allow me to slacken the strings enough to sneak pickups in and out of the guitar without removing the strings!

It just seems to go well with the small heastock, and ebony finish, I think.

    Smart mod on the Lester.
