    Knobquest

I have a looming minor electronic repair to do on my prized Yairi.

When I remove the nerve center, I want to replace the 4 knobs.
The controls on this guitar are tasteful looking, and go well with all the woody goodness, but the markings are low contrast and hard to read in even the best light.

Strat knobs fit but the flair is too wide, and I don't need numbers.

    I need a 5/8" dia max X 5/8" high.

I'm wondering if white/cream Fender amp knobs fit the bill.
What is the OD and height of these knobs?

Also, any knob source you might know could be helpful.

I need visibility. A clear pointer. Even non-neutral colors are ok.

    Thanks.

I have two of those cream "brownface" amp knobs. Bought them for my Tele, but they didn't work out visually for me.

Width unfortunately is 3/4", height 7/16"... If you want to try them anyway, let me know I'll send them to you for the cost of shipping. They're just collecting dust here.

I also have only 3 of these, if you want em and can find another somehwere you're in. A little bigger than you're looking for too at W 3/4" H 5/8" (and kind of hi-fi looking) but again just collecting dust:

Some of my favorite knobs: Q-Parts

May not be what you need, but you never know. (I use these on my guitars, but have no affiliation with this company.) Good stuff!

3/4" is definitely to big. Each pair of pots are 1" apart.
Here's a phtot of what I'm up against.

I may have to get something like mixing console knobs, with tophat sort of profile and a max 5/8" dia base, to fit in the hexagon bases.

The originals are tapered, like cooling towers.

I used to just have tape marked V & T. If I have do that when I go public again, I s'pose it won't be the end of the world.

Fender "red knobs" might work, if the base is 5/8"or less.

Didn't realize they were tapered like that... the search continues.

Those 'mini-domes' (on the Q-parts site) are around 5/8 around the base, not sure they are appropriate for your application. If I see anything, I'll post back.

Something like these maybe? They're a lot more comfortable and tactile than anything else I've used. Touch them and you know where your controls are set. Very easy to manipulate with my pinky.

You can find them smaller if you like them. These came from an old Hewlett Packard oscillator or analyzer. I don't recall right now.
