Thread: Bacchus Blackguard Tele

    Bacchus Blackguard Tele

Just picked this up. These guys have it dialed in! 2 piece center joined lightweight Ash body, Huge U neck. I would put this up against any of the high end Fender Custom Shop schtuff. The previous owner dropped Duncans, CTS pots and an Orange drop cap in. If you can get your hands on one, don't sleep on it.

I own a few Bacchus guitars. Their strats are every bit as nice. How many digits is your serial number? They are into the 100,000`s now. I have some that are 4 digits and others are 5. Early made models and extremely nice guitars.

included is a link to some of mine. I have since added a `54 tele very much like yours but a limited edition, 20 made, with non center joined light ash and Fralin pick-ups in natural finish. Like you said, every bit as well made as my Fender US guitars. Actually their own pick-ups are not bad at all, in fact there is a discussion on a Japanese site at this time stating the stock pups Bacchus uses are in fact made in the US, but where, is a secret.
I am very happy with mine and wouldn`t sell them unless I had to.
    Where did you get yourn?

The serial # on mine is 010050. Your "54 looks exactly like mine, including Duncans. I had a Fender Japan 40th 54 Strat with the White anodized Aluminum Pickguard as well. Totally incredible guitar. They even got the roundover on the headstock by the F correct, just like the original "54s. They matched the endgrain on the buttend of the body to make it look like a one piece body.

You have some great guitars. Love the Bacchus LP Junior.

heres the link. Parent company is Deviser, and they make custom guitars along with other lines.
The Butterscotch Bacchus tele I had was serial number 10000. I swapped the pick-ups in it. I have also changed pick-ups in some of the strats, just because there was a sal;e on Van Zandt pick-up kits a couple of years ago, including pots and switch. The LP jr is a really cool little guitar, got it for almost nothing. I also have a copy of SRV`s #1 strat that they made in limited numbers a few years ago. They have begun making them again, but mine came with a brass block, the new ones don`t.
Theres a bit of a story with Bacccus... almost 3 years ago they decided to stop making copies and concentrate on their own designs. Guess sales didn`t go as well as anticipated because last year they got back into making Fender and Gibson clones, along with their original desigs... which are real nice too. Hand made, top of the line patrs, lacquer finishes... so the tele you have is an older guitar from before the decision to stop cloning. Man those necks are fat aren`t they? I could go on for hours but I won`t. Hope you`ll like you new tele.
