    Help with major mains buzz.

    Hi all,

I control the PA for my bar covers band at gigs which generally means I have the PA (mixer/power amp/effects unit) right by me on my side of the stage. The problem I have is when I use my Tele it picks up all the mains buzz from all the PA. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? Maybe sheilding the guitar?

    Cheers!!!

I'm not sure what you mean by "mains buzz from all the PA".

i think he's talking about 60 cycle hum.

is it quiet when the other stuff isn't on? you might want to check your wiring of the guitar. sometimes they have an extra ground wire from the bridge to the control plate, sometimes not. if it does, try disconnecting it, if it doesn't try putting one in.

    Actually, I suspect it's 50 Hz.

Track down whether it's the PA or the room. Are there dimmers or neon close by? There are some local rooms I won't bring my strat or tele to.
    Several guitars in different colors
    Things to make them fuzzy
    Things to make them louder
    orange picks
