    "best $1.80 i ever spent!"

okay, 285 shipped w/case off the bay, bought on a lark by my buddy gary. it's an italia maranello, wilkenson pups and harware. there is a little ding in the neck binding, i replaced one tuner (glad i had a gotoh type) and had to straighten the neck. other than that she's pretty darn clean, no scratches. i was tempted to buy some different pups for her but after plugging in i'm leaving well enough alone. that's a first!

    chucky likey sparkly!

    pearloid buttons, how tasty!

    the whole shootin' match.

Now that's an instrument with character. Gluing marbles to the top might be overkill.

You gotta give those Italians some credit: they don't shy away from going right over the top!

BTW, isn't Maranello where they make Ferarris?

I think gluing a gnome to the headstock would cap it off nicely.

You're going to need some space age glue to get anything to adhere to those materials!

No, model airplane glue or acetone will melt that stuff in nothing flat.

    Tone is in the MOTS.

i know, for once someone has outweirdoed the chuckster.

as gaudy as it looks this bass is, it's a real fine player, and it really does sound good. i took it to a blues jam last saturday and all the bass players in the crowd came over afterwards and were just drooling over it. most thought it was some high end kustom, little did they know it was MIK.

That reminds me of your DeArmond.
    Sparkly agathis body and all.

    Italia makes some neat stuff.
I dig the Mondial bass. A sort of reso-glass thing.
