    "Dyning" i out Tonight

Well, I made a thread in the Whammy Bar Lounge last night about how I bought a stupid Dean guitar. I was really disgusted. Well, I was able to trade in that Dean back to the Pawnshop and picked up this Fender MIJ "Aerodyne" Bass.
Basswood body. Carved top with Bound body.
No fret markers (rats!) except on the sides. I have been wanting a good bass for recording, and now I have one, even thpough I got snagged itno getting it, and wasnt realy prep[ared to spend the 300 bucks it cost me total.
Well, they are selling for 939.00 right nopw at Musicians Fiend, so I paid a third the cost. Condition is overall excellent-/VG++ cosmetically, however it has a chip on the edge in back, and a few dings. No biggie for me. Weighs about 4 lbs. less than a real Jazz Bass.
Plays sounds and looks real nice tho. Heres some pics. They are all sideways cause I can't figure out how to edit them on Linux. It was a miracle I figured out how to post them!!

That's a pretty darn cool looking bass. Looks like something Dusty Rhodes might play. Love those 70's skirt knobs. I had them on a Bronco.

You'll be fine without dots if you make sure the ones on the side are nicely visible. My main giging acoustic doesn't have any, and I barely noticed.

Yeah, what's up with that? Some basses don't even have freaking FRETS!?!?!? What kind of shoddy workmanship is that?

If you got into it cheaply you could take the money you saved & pay somebody to put some dots on there.

That's very cool! I'd be lost without dots, too!

It took me a while to get used to a Les Paul with trapezoid inlays!

    You'll get used to it.

    Looks like a terrific bass.

I have two guitars w/o dots. As long as the side dots are easy to see, you should be able to adjust.
The side dots on my Warmoth neck are tough to see.

An enterprising person could make dozens of dollars.

    Jerry - YOU SUCK!

    What a great bass! I love these things - and FWIW.....based on a P not J bass.

You will get used to the side markers.....I played a couple of unmarked fretless basses that way.....it will come to you.

the necks on these are usually - VERY NICE!

very nice score and congrats on making the pointy thing go away !
