    Painted headstocks....

Anyone know if primer was used over the headstock before the color was shot or is the color put straight onto the bare wood?

My Jazzmaster is colour coat onto the wood then clearcoated.
It's a CIJ and the finish is poly.
How do I know? I just chipped a bit off!

Thanks Ziess. What color is your Jazzmaster? Anyone know about the vintage ones?

It's the stunningly hard-to-photograph Burgundy Mist Metallic!

One of my favorite colors too; thanks for sharing. Here's my '61 partsocaster w/ non-painted headstock. I'm thinking about building a '60 hardtail Strat w/ a painted headstock; maybe lake placid blue. That's why I'm asking the question about this detail.

Thanks for chipping a piece off for me. Nice video! I noticed a bit of Page in there in places.
