    2001 Pro Reverb 112 50w preamp tubes

    My Pro Reverb has the original tubes, so I am in the process of retubing. It has 2 - 6L6, 7 12AX7, and 1 12AT7. The preamp positions are labeled V1 through V8. The V7 position has the 12AT7.

    What do the V1 - V8 preamp tubes effect, since I cannot find documentation to clarify?!

    Any help would be much appreciated .....

    BTW, Doug @ dougstubes recommended the Ruby 6L6GCM-STR power tubes and an assortment of 12AX7's which I have on order.
    I can't wait to hear the sound of the amp after I get the new tubes!

    My personal amp tech also recommends the Ruby 6L6GCMs. I have them in two amps an' they sound great. Two other amps have JAN Tung-Sols which also sound superb.

    I don' think you'll be disappointed in the Rubys.

    Yikes.

    I seen nothing but "not good" about Ruby's in general all over the Interweb.
    Mind the source, now.
    I still haven't quite run out of NOS.
    But I have to buy new tubes every once in a while.

    Been sticking with Electro Harmonics for preamps, and Svets for 6L6. JJ's for 6V6. Only bought one set, but they sound as good as the older RCA's I have.

    Thanks all ...

    Hey rudutch, great link!

    I wonder if the layout covers the 2001 model since it has a V7 and V8 position as well?
    The power tubes are labeled V9 and V11.

    For the preamps, I'm getting 2-tung-sol, 2-eh, 2-jj, 1-mullard, 1-penta, and a JAN 12AT7.
    Quite an assortment to play with ...

    Re: 2001 Pro Reverb 112 50w preamp tubes

    What about the preamp tube layout in the Pro Reverb?

    I found the schematic, but I can't really decipher which
    preamp tube does what.

    The configuration is as follows:

    .............v1...........v2..............v3...... .........v4.................v5.................v6. ..........
    .........12ax7.....12ax7.........12ax7.........12a x7...........12ax7............12ax7........

    ...........v11...........v9....................... ...v8................v7........................... .............
    ..........(6L6).......(6L6)....................12a x7...........12at7................................ ......

    Any ideas as to which tubes affect the channel 1, 2, reverb,
    effects loop, phase inverter , etc ...

    I think I figured out the schematic ... after much prayer,
    wringing of the hands, walking the floor (just kidding) ...
    for anyone needing the same.

    V1 = channel 1 (Vol) [12AX7]

    V2 = channel 2 (Gain) [12AX7]

    V3 = channel 2 (Vol) [12AX7]

    V4 = Phase Inverter/Splitter [12AX7]

    V5 = Reverb (recovery?) [12AX7]

    V6 = Tremolo [12AX7]

    V7 = Reverb (tank?) [12AT7]

    V8 = Send/Return [12AX7]
