MMP, you coming in on I-90? This place is really easy to get around. For the Microtel just get off at exit 45, stay in the far right lane and just past the toll booth take the RTE 96 exit. It ends at RTE 96, take a left, head down the hill to the stoplight and turn right at the Chili's resturant.

If for some reason you missed the Route 96 exit just keep going straight, you'll be on 490, get off at the next exit. Route 96 runs parallel to 490 there so just backtrack past the mall and you'll be fine.

This is a small town with one main road so you can't get very lost. If you do, just ask somebody. People here are as friendly as in Mayberry.

    Re: Rochester Jam Time

I"m pretty sure it isn't going to work for me, but I'm going to see if there's any chance. Lou's was my first forum jam, and even though I haven't been particularly regular at attendance, the Rochester jams have certainly been a great oportunity for me to jump up on stage at least for a couple of tunes.

While I'm not going to blow anyone away with my chops I am thankful to OSA and the entire Rochester bunch for giving guys like me a chance to mix it up with regular gigging players. Sad to hear this is likely the last go round.

I have definitely tought of trying to put one of these deals on myself, but without a backing band or a decent sound system I'm not sure I can pull it off. I'll definitely talk to some folks though and see if there's a chance to put something together in either the Binghamton area or perhaps the Finger Lakes.

Assuming I don't make it, good vibes to all taht do.

Ran into Bob P today, he's gonna bring his Chapman Stick. Those things are cool.

Sorry Chuck, I'll be manning the floor at Sound Source on the 14th during the hours of the jam-Johnny B . was in today and told me what the times were. I was hoping it was later in the day so I could make it- I could have provided sound and lights. Maybe next time(if there is one!)

Me and my buddy Bob are leaving at ten tomorrow morning after recording some tracks of a guitar he's been working on. We should be in the Rochester area around dinner time. I hope Chuck and Mikey are around to have dinner with us - you too, Miles if you're in by then.

Yes it does. Interesting play on words, though; if you think about it. Laid off does suck, but getting laid does not... we'll see you on Saturday, though!

Yeah, MMP just called me from the hotel. I'm going to pick him, GJ, and the others around 5pm and take them to the HOG.

    Muck the HOG.
Drive down to Geneseo and see what Buzzo has.

Then swing by and pig out at the Conesus Inn.

    Re: Rochester Jam Time

Well, Bob, Nick and Miles and I went to the HOG, we met up with Rickenjangle there. Bob was gracious enough to let me play his 1955 Les Paul through a nice amp. It is amazing!

Stopped next door, had a garbage plate, and back to the Hotel for some guitar sharing. Gibsonjunkie's studio double cut is sweet.

Tomorrow the jam starts at noon. Going to be a lot of fun.

Made it home in one piece. I had a really great time. Thanks to the Rochester contingent for once again creating a memorable event! I have about a hundred pictures to sort through and post - maybe tomorrow! It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

That Microtel Inn is a nice cheap place to stay, but cheaply built. Woke up this morning to a rousing rendition of "Paper Walls" (like the song Marc Cohn wrote). The couple upstairs must have had a very nice Valentine's Day celebration and decide to wake up the hotel. Didn't hear a melody, but they were sure keeping time!

Man, what a great jam! A whole afternoon of great playing! Personal faves - Bob with the Chapman Stick, Bobby Tsunami's Jaguar bass, Telebob and OSA cuttin' heads toward the end of the day...

I hope we get to do it again in the early fall.
OSA, I'll bet Mikey and I could help out with the details, I know it's a lot of work to set these things up.

Nick, next CT jam, I sure hope I can make it!
