    What are these knobs called?

This is a Youtube clip of Barney Kessel, talking about his guitar.

He has a some old-school pointer knobs from a record player.
I know they aren't what would be called "chicken head" knobs.

Any idea what the proper name would be?

The video resolution kind of blurs them, but they sure look like your standard chicken head knobs to me.

I concur...they look like chicken head knobs...but his are VINTAGE knobs.

It adds to the tone, you know.

Yep - watched it twice - definitely chicken heads - possible the lighting is making the back of the 'pointer' look a bit longer than usual but I'd bet they're pretty standard... nothing new under the sun...

My monitor's so dark, I really mis-saw them when I first watched this .

Okay. Here's what I thought Barney had, brown or black knobs like these.

Octagonal, the top is sort of diamond cut, and there's a pointer coming off the side.
These are on a 50's Epiphone. I've seen them on early Guilds too.

Any idea what they might be called?

As a fan of chicken legs, I applaud the concept of the octo-chicken.

They are mottled brown( Two tone brown) chicken head knobs like I have on my 1954 Gibson GA77 amp, and I have never seen repros!
