    Music Man Part II

I couldn't get this to post for some reason....

well.......based on all of the interest in this ......

I will post a pic or two anyway.

    another

I still have to install the speaker, handles and corners.....and feet.

But this is it......just got it home. Not sure about the speaker cloth...I was hoping it was more black and white.....but it looks gray at a distance.

looks nice! curious what it sounds like though. my experience with folded-horn and slot-ported enclosures is that they sound like crap in a small room, but might really impress you in a large one (like 200 seat theater or larger size).

This actually sounded really warm and gooey in a small to med room, never got to put it in a large room. I will be curious how the rhino Lining effects the sound.

The JBL going in is pretty meaty. I have a fair amount of good power to push it with, no frills........just good old horse power.

I will let you know......I may have it ready for the Thursday Jam.

I opted to go with feet instead of wheels on this one BTW........and NO TWEETER. Not on this one.

Hey - Doesn't it kind of look like a small Big Screen TV?

this isn't mine, and mine was all beat to hell, but a good one would have looked like this......

Yeah chuck.......YOU know how it is!

I liked the way this cab sounded before, but it buzzed and had pffft sounds where it was damaged. The carpentry repair coupled with the coating should have that beat now.......and other than it being kind of tall, it isn't a BIG cab. Its not deep, or heavy. Even after the JBL, it still isn't too bad. i will go to Lowes on teh way home to get some screws for the hardware.

I need about almost a hundred screws for the corners, feet, and Handles.

lol, you think that is bad, you should try recovering a 70's tall (2x15) bassman cab. there must be 40 screws just holding the back on, and they are long, and very easy to ream out the heads. probably the cheapest parts CBS fender could find.

I have friends playing out this friday.......I may offer it up for sacrifice if the bass player friend wants to give it a run unheard.......

I think he will - this should be cool!

it sounds golden with the v4b, it's just a real bear to wrestle into and out of the car.

i haven't played it in about 2 years or so. i'm contemplating modding it to be a 6x10 cab...

6-10.....that shold be easy to carry around :^{I)>

This 1-15 is large, because of the folded horn. It Barely fits in the back of my car. My SVT won't fit in.....the Avatar 1-12 fits easily and souds great. I think for the long term, I may get another 1-12 and match em up. Two easy boxes and DI the Sansamp to the board if I need more. the 1-12 is actually A WHOLE LOT of sound!

why not use grill cloth that looks more like the original?

i've had one of these since about 1976 and still do. very awkward to carry. i used to stack the 1x15 with a MM 2x12 cab for bass. looked cool, sounded okay. it depends more on what you use to drive it, imo.

    Hutch -

I used that grill cloth mostly because of coast and it caught my eye....it isn't as plain as it looks, and in person - it looks ok.

A friend of mine played thorugh it last night, and driven with the Peavey T-Max it sounded very good. He offered to buy it, and I am discussing some trade and cash options with him.......

I have less than $100 total into it with the JBL, and may be getting cash plus the mixer paid off that I have been toying with for it.

I can live with that, and he can do whatever he wants to at that point.

WHen I installed the hadles, I put them where it was more comfortable to carry from. When I got it , the handle was a strap handle on top, so i don't know how it was originally.

It had plenty of bottom, and pushed the mids nicely. I think it was eq'd with too much bass myself, but it was ok.

handle on top? lol, they did some stupid stuff back then, didnt they? kinda like the handle on a quad reverb. youd have to be 8' tall to carry that comfortably! i know, because i have done it, and i *aint* 8' tall.

    BTW -

This seems to work ok with the Valve Jr in Tandem with the 8 ohm Cab for a 4 ohm load

    AND

It works nicely with the JBL in it, as an extension for the Hot Rod Dlx, along with the Reverend Alltone in it. Really has some nice sound to it! I put the Hot Rod on top and it works really well!

    Hi,

Does anyone here have an extra Music Man amp handle assembly that I could purchase.

    Thanks.
