    Volume imbalance

Is it normal that the Telecaster bridge pickup is twice as loud as the neck? Even after some drastic height adjustment, it is still unbalanced.

    Not usually.
Is it a stock guitar? What model?

Depends on the set, but it is often the case that the bridge is quite a bit louder than the neck pu; same as it ever was...hence Strat pickups, P90's, HBs subbed for the Tele neck pu...

    Re: Volume imbalance

The pickups on my Am. Std. Tele were pretty well balanced.

All of the sets that I've tried on my USACG T-Style- Kinmans, various Duncans and the Fralins that are in it have all been well balanced.
