I just love relics! I love bright shiny new condition guitars as well.I think a relic looks groovy up on stage especially-moreso than a brand new one. More "mojo" i guess.I dont think anyone started out with a vlauable mint condition Fender Strat and reliced it. That would be wrong I think.These are some gorgeous relics displayed on this thread and I would love to have one.
Ive got that slighlty reliced Jimmy Vaughan( someone here on TFF did a great job on relicing the poly finish, which is kind of tough to do).
I will say that one thing I cant stand is some of the beaters that are described as "relics" on ebay for the purpose of trying to make a sale. A beat up and ugly guitar with missing pieces and chopped off body parts is NOT a relic!
