13 and counting.....with NO end in sight!
Always planning for my next purchase!
Gonna pick up my axe and fight like a farmer!!
I now own two and one Tele.
A good, screaming Strat just might be the greatest guitar sound of all..... -Slash
Asking a guitarist "How many guitars would you like to own" is like asking Imelda Marcos "How many shoes would you like to own".
Oh no! don't open the How many guitars do you need / how many pairs of shoes do you need argument !
I've got a USA Artist series, a MIM classic series 50's, & a MIJ late 80's standard. All good players & all different.
( plus a number of others, however this is in the Stratocaster board)
When You point your finger 'cause your plan fell through, you've got 3 more fingers pointing back at you.
Only one for Strat sounds. Preferably a nice surf-y color. I'm not a collector, nor will I be a mega rock star who needs a ton of guitars to support his touring requirements.
Got them Statesboro Blues

Who's going to start the "who's the best guitarist thread"?
Rick, so you're saying that most guitar players buy guitars out of a neurotic need to demonstrate wealth or power, just as Imelda Marcos obviously bought shoes?
I tend to agree, I'm just clarifying. :)

Now my world is back in balance. I had 2 Teles and one Jazzmaster and now I have traded away one of the Teles for a Strat.
So now I've got a Fender for all occasions. :)
"I'm gonna find myself a girl
that can show me what laughter means
And we'll fill in the missing colors
In each other's paint-by-number dreams..."
These days the only thing I have with Fender on the headstock is my Strat. I don't play it all that much.
Several guitars in different colors
Things to make them fuzzy
Things to make them louder
orange picks
Kap'n.... what are you playing these days?

I've never owned more than one keeper at a time....I've had this one for 30+ years...
Looked around,I now have 5 strats,4 are up and ready.Been playing the '62 carcass lately with the Zhang pups.Haven't weighed it,but it must be 5 lbs. loaded.Super sweet tone!

I've had some good ones (Strats) over the years and eventually moved them along for something else. No regrets. It's the way it is with us geeter pickers, methinks. lol As we speak, I have a 2010 American Standard Strat coming to me on a trade for a Carvin I had and wasn't playing.
I would think that having that one perfect Strat to capture that Strat thang does it for me. I currently have a Les Paul that is staying with me until I finally make the journey. I also have a Carvin TLB60 that I built and finished from a kit, and that thing is a beast. Another "keeper" with a sound like nothing else. Adding a good Strat will round things out for me. For now. Maybe.
