    classic 60's

I read recently that the necks and bodies for the MIM classic 50's and 60's were made in the US before being shipped to Mexico for painting and finishing. Any truth to that? I recently bought a 60's in burgandy mist and replaced the pick-ups to Dimarzio Area 61(bridge) and area 58(middle and neck). I'm really impressed with the classic series. I own an EJ strat as well and although the quality is not quite the same the classic 60's does hold it's own. I'm really digging this strat. I used it most of the night last Saturday at a gig.

    Re: classic 60's

In 1998 they were all cut in the USA and only painted in mexico and assembled in the USA. After that the bodies and necks were cut in the USA and the rest was assenbled and painted in Mexico. Some bodies are also cut in Mexico but its hard to say how many.

I had a Burgundy Mist 98 60's Classic I added Fralins and an American Vintage bridge with steel block and it became my favorite Strat made me sell my Relic Custom Shop Strat.
