    Unusual grain pattern...

    I picked up this Fender 12 string on Christmas Eve for myself, what caught my eye, was this unusual grain pattern on the top:




    it looks like scratches in the wood, and wasn't sanded before the
    finish was sprayed on... but it's not, this is the pattern in the wood...

    I've nicknamed this guitar, "The Flame That Changed It's Mind"

    anyone seen the same ?

    That's very purty. How does the guitar sound? I've seen grain patterns like that before but not in a guitar.

    i almost looks like a mahoghany top.....but it's prob spruce, just not AAAA

    the guitar sounds excellent for the price I paid for it... only $220.00 up here in Alaska... it's got a Spruce top, and the picture doesn't really make the wood pattern stand out... it actually looks a little pink under a bright light... since the pic was taken, I've carved new nuts and saddles out of Tusq, bone, and Micarta... the bone sounds the best !
