Care and Cleaning of the Steel Body Resonator

A friend is allowing me to store/use his Fender Steel Body Resonator.

Opening the case for the first time, I noticed that the guitar is tarnished. Bob says he removes the tarnish with a special double-sided cloth, but man you really have to work at it.

Anyone here know a better way to keep the resonator clean? Can I use stainless steel polish on it?

It's actually nickel plated brass, right?
Don't use anything abrasive on it. If the cloth doesn't harm the finish I'd stick with it.

Maybe a non abrasive silver polish would work.

I don't know anything about these guitars. All I know is it lists for $1,000 and weighs as much as a 54 Buick.

Didn't even know that Fender makes steel-bodied resonators, but I do know that National Resophonic recommends using glass-cleaner to clean their bodies.

In the short time I have researched this, I've found that this is hotly debated. Glass cleaner or no glass cleaner?
