Hey, guys. First time poster here, too. Here's my #1.

It's a 1998 American Standard, 3 color sunburst, with the Delta Tone Control System. I actually sold all the other guitars I had when I got this one (Ibanez Iceman, Fender HM Series Strat, Kramer Striker EVH, Kramer Striker ST 300, Gibson Flying V with Steinburger TransTrem) because I didn't touch them anymore. Now, every time someone plays my Strat, they end up trying to buy it from me. lol It's the best sounding Strat I believe I have ever heard.

Uh, I don't know if I can do this, but here's my other #1...

I don't have a name for this one yet. Maybe I'll start a thread looking for suggestions just kidding!

I go back and forth on which guitar is my #1 too, but it's got to be one of these. Just depends on my mood and what the song calls for.

Honestly, I've determined that my "#1" depends on the project. When I've been more of a "lead guitarist," my 83 MIJ 62RI was the one. When my the music is "big," it's 99 Les Paul Classic. Nowadays, my music is more lean and mean so it's my 06 homemade "Bella" JM...

My # 1 and only guitar for many years (63 model in my possession since 66) has just come back from the guitar maker who has returned it to its original colour.

    Now this is a guitar!

Funny, people try to obtain street cred by buying relic'd guitars and you restore your MojoCaster to its original glamour. This is what I like!

The mojo isn't in the dings IMO. Beautiful guitar, just beautiful

1996 Custom Shop carved top Strat #188. As I understand it, this Strat was designed by John Page and John Suhr and was built by Gene Baker.

    Re: Show us your #1!

I've just recently started using the Strat on the right as my new #1 with Wave Invasion. It's a '01 US standard and except for some Fender locking tuners I installed which are a dirct replacement for the original tuners it's stock. Right now I'm splitting duty with it and the 87 US in the middle.

Great looking setup. Did you do anything to the speakers in that Bassman? The reason I ask is that years ago I had a similar amp that I played an LP through. For some reason, stock Piggyback Bassmans always sounded very dull for guitar to me. I wasn't until I used an oversized cab with a D130 that the amp really opened up. At the time I thought it was that they used speakers specifically for Bass and that the baffling in the cabs was different than say Bandmasters. Granted, I don't think I ever played a Fender through one in those days. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Thanks for the compliment. Sounds great to my ear. I use Gibson Les Paul Preferred 9-46 strings, plugged straight in to a Marshall AVT-50 amp. When I use the amp, which isn't often at home. It took me a long time to warm up to this guitar (I've always preferred Gibsons to Fender) but it's my #1 by a long stretch these days.

I've always been a Strat fan. I've had one LP-type guitar, and I just couldn't get used to it. Got my first Strat (1989 Fuschia HM Series Strat) in 1992 and realized what a guitar should sound and feel like. Sold the HM series Strat when I got my American Standard, because I just didn't touch the guitar anymore.

Thanks for the compliment. Actually when I bought the bassman the speaker cab was empty, so I really can't comment on the original speakers that came in it. I have tried a few different speaker configurations in it and settled on an eminence red fang, and a red white and blues. If it came with a speaker designed for bass, it probably was high powered and that can make it sound somewhat sterile. (I did try some higher powered speakers in it and didn't like them nearly as much.) FWIW
