I know we all come from a variety of differnt styles around here so I thought it would be interesting to know some the prefered amps you guys play your teles through.

List as much detail as you like.

72 thinline and 73 standard tele through 66 Super Reverb is tops.

Usually gig with 64 Deluxe reverb for convenience though (still a killer rig, but without the headroom and bottom thump possible with the Super)

I like my Tele through my Delta Blues or my tall Univox just fine.

But the sweetest was an amp I don't own-

No pictures. I don't own a digital camera (or, for that matter, even a cell phone). I will see if I can borrow one, but then someone needs to direct me on how to post the images.

Re: Your favorite tele amp combo

Howdy folks, sorry, maybe 'folk' is not an accepted word on here!

    Howdy pickers,

I am just gittin' into the Fender world. I just got a MIM Nashville Tele and a '96 "American Made" Hot Rod Deville 4X10 and so far this is my favorite setup. But hey, I am just getting started.

A quick question. I am sure this has been beat to death, but is there anything that I can do about the hum I get playing direct through the PA. I am in a worship band at our church and people are constantly griping about my noisy pickups.

Thanks and look forward to learning more about the Telecaster!

    Dan

    1) Play in the middle position with both pickups on
    2) Find a quiet place to stand and don't move
    3) Dial back on the tone pot
    4) Turn the volume down between tunes
    5) Use a higher quality guitar lead cable
    6) Take it to a tech and ask him how much to 'shield' the pickups
    7) ...get a humbucker guitar!

Early 2000 Nocaster with the hot bridge pickup likes these amps: 1956 Supro Comet, 1959 Fender Deluxe, 1964 BFDR--and even the Komet & Marshall!

Teles seem to "like" a wider variety of amps than other guitars, no?

    Or maybe I'm biased...
