Trade ya for trem arm tension springs!

I need a couple . They come in packs of TWELVE. GC don't got 'em. MF says theymight be in stock later this month.

This is ridiculous. If you've got a couple of those tiny black springs that go in a Strat's trem arm hole to keep the arm in place, I'll dig something out of The Just-In Case that you might want.

How about a couple of those crank-shaped stomp box connectors? A set of D'Addario XL 10s? A Gravity Music demo CD? A Kyser capo?

I thought I had some of these in a drawer in the tape room, but they gone. Hook a bruddah up.

I whittled down a piece of one of these, when I couldn't find any springs.

Full disclosure: I could detect no adverse rubberiness in my tone when in use. But then I don't have your keen, studio dog ear.
If, by chance you should want some added rubberiness, you can just believe and it will happen.

As always, I hope this helps.

Jim, if I had one I'd send it to you. I always pull the spring out and chuck it in the trash.

I have a 2005 American Deluxe that I don't use the trem on presently. I'm not sure if it has the spring you're looking for, but if it does I'd be happy to send it to you...

I'm gonna try Neo's thing, rubberiness be damned. That's a swell idea... Fender should actually make little rubber trem tensioners.

but tdurik, if you find that spring, shoot me an e-mail.

Actually, (Duh...) I'm stopping by an authorized fender repair center on the way home because of my Blues Junior. What do I ask for (bridge type, etc...)?
If he has them I could pickup a pack and mail them to you.

Re: Trade ya for trem arm tension springs!

Since you just got the new block, are just looking to have the arm NOT spin away from your hand when you let go?

fezz hipped me to wrapping some plumber's teflon tape around the thread. If you store on a stand in your studio, this could be idea, since you don't remove the arm when you put the guitar away. A little extra tape might achieve this. But the eraser's a good backup.

My thread was bent so it opened the hole up and made things sloppy. The tape made up the difference. Nice and smooth, no wiggle.
My Schecter arm's a little different than a stock Fender, so it was nice to be able to keep the old familiar parts but with a nice snug fit.

I got reams of teflon tape... I'll try that very first.

Yep, it's the new block, and the arm is a fine fit, I just don't want it to dive away when I let go.

Re: Trade ya for trem arm tension springs!

I might have some extras at home.

With the new Callaham block I don't need them at all.

If your trem arm is loose in the Callaham block I suggest that you buy the Callaham trem arm to go with it (I bought the whole unit). The fit is pretty snug. It's worth the money because you'll never have to think about a sloppy trem arm again.

    Ever.

It's "Syncronized Tremolo" bliss. Really, I never knew it could be this good.

I just use small rubber "O" rings that are cut down.

    GJ,

I found one that came with my Strat plus for the trem arm. Is this the same spring your looking for? Your welcome to have it.

Ya' know, between the erasers and the teflon tape I'l bet you could fashion a right festive batch of post-modern, non-stick snowflakes.

    Emergency capo idea.

JAM... a littel black spring? That would be the one. If you've got it in hand, and don't mind throwing it in the mail, I'll take it. I was gonna do fezz's thing, but I can't find a single clicker ballpoint in the whole dang house (we're rollerball people 'round these parts).

Now, you can use those wood clamps as emergency capos, or to help set the glue on these lovely eraser-and-teflon snowflakes I've made up for my Labor Day picnic......

    Dude, you rock!

In the meantime, a little teflon tape... what could it hurt?
