    greasebucket tone circuit?

just wondering if anyone knew what exactly they (fender) are doing here. i saw it advertised in the frontline catalog as "rolls off highs without adding bass", "allows for a thicker sound that cuts", and "eliminates the usual gain loss when utilizing the tone control".

just wondering beings this is a passive circuit, and from my understanding when you roll back the tone all you are doing is filtering out the high end. maybe i've got it all wrong, but the claims seem frivolous to me. but hey, i'm a anyways.

I utilizes 2 caps and a resistor per tone control.
My new Hwy1 Strat had the Greasebucket tone cicuit.
    I couldn't hear the difference.

Notice I said "had". That's all in the parts drawer now as I converted the guitar to Fralin's blender circuit with Fezz's '50s mod.

I am using the Callaham blender schematic like above (some interesting combinations of pu's) but installed the "Greasebucket" as master tone control w orange drop caps. I find i can use the tone better, all the way down without mud. Sounds good to my ears.
