A lipstick might be more difficult. You would need to get the pickup open to pot the coil, and you might screw up the coil doing so. I don't know enough of the mechanics to do so.

As I understand it, you need to heat up paraffin (canning wax) in a double boiler, and use a candy thermometer to get it to the right temperature. Some bobbins melt at a low temperature, and that would be bad.

Is it really a lipstick pickup or a stock Tele neck pickup?

The cover is vibrating. Make sure it's solidly attached (Check the tabs on the underside of the pickup). Depending on the pickup, there's usually some wax already under the cover to help with this type of thing. After checking that the cover is secure, heat up the pickup with a hair dryer for about 30 seconds. The problem should go away...

I think he's referring to a Tele neck pickup, not a real lipstick pickup.
