Katanas are nice as works of art, but unless you get a serious one, it's really easy to damage the blade edge, since they're so thin.Originally Posted by fezz parka
I usually use the LS-32. Had a blacksmith put an edge on it, and it's great for hacking gourds.

Absolutely. Columbus Day weekend a bunch of friends and I get together for Pumpkin Day, a mass gathering of swords, gourds, and kegs. Essentially an excuse for a bunch of my friends to get together outside of traditional holidays, when everybody has other commitments with their families. Sort of a Vonnegut-style extended family reunion.Originally Posted by NeoFauve
Many of us have swords, and how often do you ever really get to use one? We typically cut up 100+ pumpkins, in a well controlled (safe) manner. It's a blast, and a great way to catch-up and renew friendships.

I'm out of my gourd laughing at the image of Kapn and various other old Hippies whacking pumpkins to smithereens... Hey can I come?
and back to the original post Gloriyang's guitar is now at 150 guessing that is around 300 bucks or so....
Possibly. It's in upstate NY. One of our regular attendees lives in Burke, VA. I'm not that old either, I'm a 'boomer only by the strictest of definitions. I tend to think that generation as a whole screwed it up for the rest of us.Originally Posted by Skip
Back to guitars, I think the Katana, with it's Doritos 3-D look is way cooler than the Performer.

I live in Burke, VA - Kapn and I have never been to the Pumpkin wakadooo
We will be in the Adirondacks 2nd week of August...if it were coincidental it would be a hoot. (Party Crasher Skip ) It would be curious to meet your Burke friend.
...and I prefer the Peformeresque by Neo - it's the "sland"
Burke, VA...the place where the firehouse burned down.:lol
You might even know my friend Brian. If not, you should jam with him, he's really good.
Performeresque is the sland.
