    1966 Jazzmaster with block inlays

does anyone know about how Fender produced the jazzmasters with the block inlays instead of dots. Was this rare? Here are pictures of a guitar im interested in buying. My Vintage guitar price guide does'nt list an olympic white with blocks for 1966. Thanks for any help.

Rumor has it Fender was going to fit the block necks to Strats, but only a few necks were actually put on Strats and they were for the most part only put on JMs. They were made for maybe 3 years.
